Two toed sloth have been coming to the bosquesito, little forest by our home for the past five or six years. It's a safe haven for them to raise babies and it seems "hang out". We've spotted as many as five sloth in the forest in one day. They've allowed us to watch babies raised, weaned and left to fend for themselves. The latter is heartbreaking. Thank goodness we've also witnessed mother and child reunited once the child has fully matured. Talk about moments to be remembered!
These amazing creatures have chosen to be a part of my every day life. Some may say they're my spirit animal. It could be. The one thing I know for sure, my life is forever changed for the better by having them in it.
These are wild animals!
We do not touch or in any way interfere with the natural order of their lives. They choose to show themselves or not. I watch (sometimes for hours) & take photos. Okay, I do talk to them. Who wouldn't?
For inquiring minds, today... no fuzzy butts!
