A flock of white fronted parrots has been coming around the house lately. These birds love to chatter. It's been rather loud in the early mornings with the young birds calling out to the adults who are teaching them stretch their wings.
Volcan Turrialba is spewing ash all over the central valley again. The only thing we noticed at our house was rainbow clouds the other morning. I'm thinking the ash in the air caused the effect as I haven't see it before.
My brother and I were in the city during the eruption on Monday. As we finished eating on the patio ash started falling on our table.
15 de Septiembre, Dia de Independecia in Costa Rica. The country was a sea of red, white and blue. We hadn't been to an Independence Day parade in a few years so we took my brother to share in the experience this year.
He fit right in with his red shirt!
The parade was fun but what I enjoyed most was seeing all the red, white and blue variations in the crowd.
Parades in Costa Rica have a tendency to be too much of a good thing for participants and spectators.
After a couple of hours, I was as done as these little ones! Still, it was fun sharing this holiday with family for the first time. :)
