We've been feeling the effects of wacky weather here in Costa Rica. Over the weekend fierce winds shattered one of our skylights leaving a 9 by 3 ft hole in our roof. From midnight to mid-morning the remaining pieces banged the corrugated metal roof. Oh yeah, that was a pleasant experience.
Here's a piece of the old skylight. It blew off over roof to the opposite side of the house.
We didn't think there would be much that could be done with the winds not letting up. Bill went up and removed the broken pieces so the ridiculous banging would stop and made a quick run into town to buy a new panel at the only hardware store open on Sunday.
By mid-afternoon the wind still had not let up so he and Callista braced themselves and worked together to repair the roof.
