This restaurant was AWESOME! Their slogan, De nuestro servicio nace la amistad(from our service friendship is born) is more than just a slogan. This was the friendliest restaurant with the best service I think we've ever had in this country. The food and drinks were great and the bill reasonable.
I had the sea bass plate, Bill the sea bass casado and Callista the beef casado. All were delicious! It was a pleasant surprise to discover what we initially thought were mashed potatos turned out to be mashed yucca. They were fantastic. I love yucca but had never tried it this way. The portions were generous, we all struggled to finish our meals.
Our natural drinks were yummy as well. So yummy we had seconds. As we finished our meals the server brought us our complimentary desserts, dishes of arroz con leche.
The pic is of Calli chastizing her spoon for making her eat the arroz con leche when she was already full. She said it was that good! She & Bill ate mine as I couldn't eat another bite.
Our lunch experience in La Fortuna didn't start out as well as it ended. Our first stop for lunch was
here. A little place just off the main road into town. Cal had seen the sign on our first drive around town and suggested to we try it. After waiting 15 minutes for menus we walked out. There weren't very many customers and by the way were were treated (or not treated as it turned out) it sure didn't seem like they wanted any more.
Thank goodness we left and went in search of another place to eat or we wouldn't have found Soda Viquez, our new favorite place to visit for lunch in La Fortuna!
