I don't believe a coral snake was on any of our Christmas wish lists. That didn't stop this guy from slithering under the Christmas tree. I'm taking it as a sign it's time to take down the tree. You can bet I'll be wearing gloves when it comes down, just in case. This guy is no longer a threat but who knows what else might have chosen to enjoy our first outdoor Christmas tree.
We all enjoyed the tree being outside this year where we could see it from several rooms in the house. After having this snake come up I'm no so sure about it anymore. Luckily we have 10 months to think about it.
How did we know it was a coral snake? Experience, this isn't our first encounter. Whenever we see one of these we always remember the phrase Red on yellow, kill a fellow. Red on black friend to Jack.
