Never, never, never in my life did I ever imagine I'd become a Kombucha convert. Even more shocking is my husband becoming hooked after his first sample.
What is kombucha?
Direct from Wikipedia: Kombucha is an effervescent fermentation of sweetened tea that is used as a functional food.
After a couple of successful batches and yes, failures too, I have become a Kombucha Mama. My booch is brewing as I type. I've even got a scoby(or baby) hotel as well.
I'm not going pretend I know more than I do about this stuff. A friend gave me some to taste. I liked it. She gave me a starter and I began the process. And an online study of Kombucha. There is an abundance of info online about the brew.
What I do know after all my research is kombucha is supposed to be good for us. It's a way to get probiotics into our systems. We're converts. I'm looking forward to experimenting with different flavors now that we've had a few successful batches.
If you've experimented with Kombucha I welcome your comments and any tips you care to share.
