Our living room has been turned into a yoga studio lately. With the cooler weather and winds we've done a few of our regular weekly classes at the house recently. Since the three of us make up the majority of the class it's been nice practicing with the other yogi's in our home. The energy is wonderful. So is being able to focus on the practice sans outside influence meaning people walking by or cars coming and going.
Another benefit to practicing at the house is we have use of walls. Using the walls has taken our practice to a whole new level. It has also helped us improve on asanas or poses we've been doing all along. With the wall we can align our bodies or at least understand how we're supposed to align our bodies.
We may not look like the yogi's you're used to seeing in magazines or advertisements for yoga retreats but we are yogi's. Dedicated yogi's. Just ask our teacher(s). Sometimes the hardest thing to do in yoga is show up for practice. We always show up with open minds and open hearts.
Bill brought me coffee this morning while I was editing these photos. I loved it when he looked at the pic of me and said " now look you just need to activate that right foot and you've got it!". Then he realized he needed to do it as well. How cool is that?!
The walls may have brought a new demension to our yoga practice but our yoga practice has certainly brought a new demension to our lives. Think I'm gonna go see if hubby wants to do a head stand with me.
