It's not often we take on the steep hairpin turns and blind curves to visit the town of Atenas. It's been awhile. A recent post on the Gringo Central San Ramon blog about an upcoming trip to the nearby town got us thinking about it.
It had been years since we'd been to see Kay and Tom at Kay's Gringo Postres. They were still in their old location the last time the whole family went. We were all in for a surprise when we learned there would be a show with our lunch. It turned out yesterday was "Lady's Day" at the restaurant. In honor of the event, local Zumba instructor, Tracy Tippin and a number of her students did a demonstration. If you're interested in Zumba classes in Atenas contact Tracy at tltippin@gmail.com
Since we hadn't been there in so long we decided to order three different items for lunch and share them. We shared a bacon cheeseburger, club sandwich and grilled cheese. It'd been ages since we'd had a club sandwich, yummy. I'm going to have to start making them at home.
It was nice seeing both Tom and Kay again but by far the best part of our visit to Kay's was Callista finding several books she's been wanting in the lending library. She talked about them the entire ride home.
