I had to play catch-up on my needlework today. Two classes with different projects caught up with me this week. I didn't even make it to one of the classes last week as we're still trying to find balance in our lives now that Callista is back in school and I'm doing more outside the house.
While I consider this a large project, it's nothing compared to what the more experienced stitcher's are doing. The tip of my finger is aching after working on the center, darker parts. I don't know what that stitch or design is called but I have a few choice words for it. The big flower thing had to be re-done I don't know how many times. By the time I got to the center work between the diamonds I'd finally gotten the stitch down and completed it with almost no errors. Almost.
I'm waiting to cut the second diamond until I do some cutting in my other class. Cutting is intimidating. All the hours of work can be for nothing if you snip something you shouldn't.
The second class I decided to take is one where I am learning the individual stitches. In all honesty, having virtually no experience in needlework I should have taken a class like this first but that's not how things fell into place. So, I'm doing an awful lot of stitching. For my second class, I am doing everything 4 times. Yep, quadruple the work. I have to admit after I'm done doing the work four times I sure as hell better know and remember how to do the stitches again.
I need to have these four squares done for tomorrow so it's back to work for me.
