If your tires scream when you round a blind turn you might want to check 'em. They may not just be low you could easily have picked up a nail as we did.
We've talked to several people lately who've had the bad luck of picking up a clavo, nail while driving around. Some people are in the construction process so nails in the tires is almost expected. Others think perhaps the scammers/crooks are using nails to give them more opportunities. Whatever the case if you're driving in Costa Rica please check your tires regularly.
If you're in or near San Ramón and need a tire changed on Sunday, ServiCentro Santa Marie across from the high school has a tire guy on duty until noon. The three other shops we checked were all closed.
The day before our flat tire, Bill and Callista saw a friend whose tire had blown and caused his car to flip. Luckily the family was fine but the car is going to cause a little pain in the wallet. Please take a minute and check your vehicles. Any type of breakdown on Costa Rican road is a royal pain.
Cost for nail removal & tire repair just under $3.
Non-bitchy, non-nagging wife...priceless.
