This Blue-crowned Motmot or more commonly called Bo Bo almost begged to have his photo taken the other morning. I've spent the past several months trying to capture a photo of him with no luck. The only ones I've gotten have been through the dining room window and not publishable in my opinion.

As I took out the morning bananas this guy started talking to me and flew closer and closer like the first bird we got to know a couple of years ago. Could my mot-mot have finally come back?  He chattered and clucked at me seeming to say, "Get the camera Lady!" and so I did. He sat , posing for me for about twenty minutes until the low battery on the camera finally gave way. He didn't startle or budge when I had to move about and position a table to use as a tripod. He seemed to like the camera flash. Only when I finished snapping photos did he fly over to the bananas, grab one and take it back to the bosque.

This colorful bird will forever remain on of my favorites.
