Finally getting out of the house

100_2247 We've been enjoying having Callista home from school so much so that we've hardly left the house this month other than quick trips to the store. It's been fun nesting together. Initially we thought after a week or two Callista would be bored and missing school and friends. It hasn't happened. We spend all day, every day together and have been enjoying every minute of it. Bill & Callista have spent hours and I do mean hours sometimes up to six hours reading some days. What a lucky girl to have this time to share with her dad. These moments/memories will stay with her well into adulthood. I interrupt these sessions only to bring nourishment, tea, cocoa, snacks or lunch for the two of them to enjoy together while I work on my sewing projects listening in another room. Bear is right there with them. He comes running when anyone mentions story time.

100_2152It was me who broke this week and insisted we finally get out of the house and do something. I'm getting callouses on my tush from so much sewing. I wanted to get out and walk a bit. And walk we did! We went to INBioparque in Heredia. Bill has since said it was his favorite place we've visited so far. While I'm not sure kids vacationing here would enjoy it as much as a trip to the beach I believe all the school children here should go at least once. I also don't think we would've enjoyed it as much had we visited before now. Having lived here awhile now we can appreciate the biodiversity and the need to protect what we have so Callista's children will be able to enjoy it before it's gone. 100_2161

I'm not going to get all preachy but do want to mention that in one visit, INBioparque was able to get Bill thinking about the environment he lives in and preserving it more than Callista & I have been able to do in her lifetime. As we left, he searched for the proper trash can to deposit his plastic soda bottle in without any encouragement. In the past he'd throw it in any trash can. Now he's thinking, it's a start. Everyone can do something to improve the environment we live in. Thank-you INBioparque!!!
